LIVING IN CLEARWATER
Clearwater is a larger medium-sized coastal city (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Florida. With a population of 115,513 people and 36 constituent neighborhoods, Clearwater is the 16th largest community in Florida.
Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Clearwater is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Clearwater is a city of sales and office workers, service providers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Clearwater who work in office and administrative support (15.64%), sales jobs (13.35%), and management occupations (10.07%).
Also of interest is that Clearwater has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.
One of the nice things about Clearwater is that it is nautical, which means that parts of it are somewhat historic and touch the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and bays. Because of this, visitors and locals will often go to these areas to take in the scenery or to enjoy waterfront activities.
The overall education level of Clearwater is somewhat higher than in the average US city of 21.84%: 27.42% of adults 25 and older in the city have at least a bachelor’s degree.
