The character of Palm Harbor is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Access to green spaces, like Brooker Creek Preserve and Pop Stanstell Park, is easy from a large number of locations within the unincorporated community and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to visit. The noise levels in this part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metropolitan area are also quite low, as there isn’t a lot of street noise or city clamor – although that is not the case near the railway line. High schools and primary schools are not very abundant in Palm Harbor, and thus not always within walking distance. Residents can choose between public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level. With regards to eating, some, but not all, home buyers in Palm Harbor will live within walking distance of one of around 40 supermarkets. Residents can enjoy over 200 restaurants and coffee shops as well. Cars are a very good means of transportation in this unincorporated community. Parking is generally easy. In contrast, Palm Harbor is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, homeowners have access to a few bus lines. Palm Harbor is not very suitable for walking because very few common errands can be run on foot.
